EICD
The Emergency Institute for Cardiovascular Diseases “Prof Dr CC Iliescu”, Bucharest, is the main hub for cardiology, cardiac and vascular surgery in Romania and serves as an academic centre for research and teaching in cardiology, cardiac surgery, vascular surgery, anaesthesiology and emergency medicine.
It comprises of two cardiac surgery departments, four cardiology departments, including an acute cardiac care unit, one vascular surgery and two anaesthesia and intensive care medicine departments, which offer anaesthesia for nine operating rooms (five vascular and four cardiac, out of which one functions as a hybrid operating room).
The Institute has a history of leading/participating in research and educational projects in all specialties described above.
